The Kap Brothers Band

Roby Kap is the front man, lead singer, guitarist and master harmonica player. Brother Richie Kap plays a variety of instruments including lead guitar, mandolin and vocals.

Bass guitarist/vocalist Marty Lee of Morgan, Utah performed with various bands for 16 years before joining the Kap Bros. Band in April 1981. Marty is a collector of vintage and new 4-5 and 6 string bass guitars.

Dan "Rainbow Man" Nielsen of Roy, Utah has been with the band for the past 15 years. Dan is one of the finest Latin percussionists in the area and has been performing in bands since his Jr. high school days.

Drummer Greg "Opie" Horspool of Roy, Utah joined the lineup 14 years ago. Greg has also been performing with other area bands since Jr. high school.

The Kap Bros. Band were continual favorites for several years at the annual Ogden Street Festival with a blend of blues, rock, country and their own original classics. Recent accomplishments include opening for Huey Lewis and The News at the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics. Also opening act at The Festival of the West, a huge outdoor concert, for two-time Rock n Roll hall-of-fame inductee David Crosby (formerly of The Birds and Crosby, Stills and Nash). They opened for rock legend John Kay & Steppenwolf at the 50th annual MDA run at the Silversmith Casino in Wendover, Nevada. Also opening for Firefall and Night Ranger at local concerts. Their other major performances include the Utah Blues & Jazz Festival at Snowbird, Utah featuring bluesmen Joe Lewis Walker and John Hammond. The band performed on live FM radio from the Dead Goat in Salt Lake City with blues legend Cash McCall and was a featured performer at KRCL radio's "Day in the Park" as well as the Gallivan Center, E Center and night clubs throughout the West. They are local favorites at the Eden Balloon Festival. The Kap Bros. Band has recorded 3 CD's and performed for a special live concert from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

In recent years The Kap Bros. Band performed with Mark Farner formerly of Grand Funk, Foghat, and The Classic Rock Allstars in Elko Nevada at the Annual Elko Motorcycle Rally. Also performing at the rally were BTO, The Little River Band and Blackfoot. Check out the calendar for their appearance at the Elko Motorcycle Rally again soon.
